David E. Carroll, 91, passed away on June 26, 2026. He was born in Kansas, Oklahoma, on October 13, 1934, to Dave and Agnus (McAlester) Carroll.
He married the love of his life, Bobbie Ruth Sisk, on July 21, 1956, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Gene lived most of his life in Kansas but moved around to different states with his wife Bobbie before they settled back in Kansas, Oklahoma. He proudly owned and operated Carroll’s Service Station in Kansas, Oklahoma, for 35 years. For much of that time, it was Carroll’s Apco Station.
Gene loved living in Kansas and was involved in numerous activities. He was the first person to serve as the city’s mayor. He was a founding member of the Kansas Volunteer Fire Department. He most proudly served on the Kansas School Board.
When not at the station, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf with family members and longtime friends.
More than anything, he was most proud to be a grandfather. His time with his three grandchildren was some of his and Bobbie’s most cherished memories.
