Karen Lyn Erdmann (Standingwater), a gifted and artistic individual known for her vibrant personality and dedication to her passions, passed away on June 8, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on September 29, 1984, in Claremore, Oklahoma, Karen lived a life enriched by her varied interests and the enduring love of her family.

Throughout her formative years, Karen showcased remarkable musical talent. She was a drum major and an active member of both her high school’s jazz band as well as the college band at Northeastern State University (NSU), where she played the saxophone. These pursuits reflected her deep commitment to music, a lifelong passion that she carried into many aspects of her life.

Karen received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northeastern State University and a master’s degree in human relations with a certificate in Human Resource Diversity and Development from the University of Oklahoma. She cared deeply for others and loved to help people.

Karen’s hobbies were as diverse as they were meaningful. She found joy in playing music, singing karaoke, beading, creating costumes, and enjoying Comic-Con, activities that spoke to her creativity and artistic flair. Her interests also included a love for softball and powderpuff football, engaging with friends and family. Additionally, she enjoyed watching movies and was an avid supporter of the Boston Red Sox.
