Theda Adkisson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor, passed away at the age of 76. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her devotion to family, and the many ways she gave of herself to the community she called home.
Theda was born in Amarillo, Texas, and later moved with her family to Oklahoma, where she graduated from Crooked Oak High School. She was deeply proud of her Cherokee Nation heritage. She married Allen Adkisson, and together they built a life centered on love, service, and family. They were blessed with two sons, Odis and Rodney.
Theda had a servant’s spirit and a willingness to help wherever she was needed. She worked alongside her husband as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Choctaw, offering her time and care in service to others. She also volunteered with the Eastern Oklahoma County Pageant and the Eastern Oklahoma County Resource Center, leaving a lasting impression through her kindness and dedication.
Theda enjoyed traveling with friends and family and cherished the memories made along the way. She loved cheering on Thunder basketball, OU football, and softball whenever she had the chance. She was also an avid collector of Native American art and sports memorabilia, interests that reflected both her appreciation for beauty and her enthusiasm for the teams and traditions she loved.
