Nellie “Bunny” Hammer, 65, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on June 21, 2026.
Born on June 8th, 1961, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Bunny was the daughter of Dave Hammer and Marinda (Bear) Hammer. She spent her life in the community she loved, where she became known for her friendly spirit, welcoming heart, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures.
Bunny shared many cherished years with her longtime companion, Johnnie Jarvis. Together, they created countless memories filled with love, laughter, and companionship.
Anyone who knew Bunny knew that one of her favorite places was Walmart. She enjoyed shopping and visiting with the many friends and familiar faces she encountered there. In fact, it seemed as though everyone knew Bunny, and she never met a stranger. She enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends. Bunny also found happiness in working word search puzzles, reading western novels, and watching classic western movies. When it came to food, nothing made her happier than a good pizza shared with those she loved.
