On November 25, 2002, Rodney Hart went deer hunting in a wooded area in rural Adair County near Stilwell. The following morning, after Rodney did not return, a group of friends went searching for him and found his body. Rodney had been shot multiple times.

Rodney Dennis Hart, pictured above at 16, was found shot to death on November 25th, 2002, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He was 20-years-old.
Rodney and a friend went deer hunting on a friend’s property, but they got separated. The friend and Rodney were to meet at 5 pm, but Rodney didn’t show. The friend left but remained concerned, and at 6 am the next morning, he and several other friends of Rodney’s went to search for him. They found Rodney’s body south of Stilwell near Bethel Road. He had been shot several times. Law enforcement labeled it as a homicide, but no arrests have been made.
Rodney was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on May 27th, 1982. He was Native. Rodney was married with one son at the time. He would always rather be hunting and fishing, according to his obituary. He was working as a welding apprentice.
